“Sob story” thief – jailed
A prolific Brummie thief, who played the victim long enough to rob targets when their backs were turned, has been jailed for five years.
Lisa Walker has a history of preying on her victims by giving them various sob stories like being locked out of her address and needing money to get elsewhere.
Once inside the house, she distracts the occupant and steals money from them.
The 36-year-old was arrested on 27 November from her home address in Milner Road, Selly Oak and yesterday (9 Jan ) was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court after pleading guilty to five distraction burglaries.
Selly Oak Neighbourhood Sergeant Tressa Ludlow said:
“Walker has caused a great deal of distress within our local elderly community and I am pleased to see her behind bars for the time being.”
