Man charged over Walsall carjacking

A man’s been charged with jacking a Nissan Juke in Bloxwich.

Detectives charged the man with robbery after a woman was dragged along the ground during the act.

The victim suffered a broken arm and facial injuries as a Nissan Juke was stolen from Stoney Lane, Bloxwich, on 28 December.

The car was recovered days later and officers acted on information to arrest Craig Lewis.

The 36-year-old from Green Lane, Walsall, appeared before the town’s magistrates court on Saturday (4 January) charged with robbery and two unrelated burglaries.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on 3 February.
