Firearm cops appeal for info as teen remains in hospital
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information after a boy aged 15 was shot in Cov.
Police were called to Cross Cheaping.
It is believed the youngster was standing near Maccies when a motorbike carrying a number of people drove past and a weapon was fired.
The 15-year-old was taken to hospital for surgery where he remains in a serious condition.
Cops confirm they are no longer linking this incident with two other incidents that happened around the same time.
Officers are following up a number of lines of enquiries and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage from the area, as there were a number of taxis in the city centre at the time.
Det Insp Kat Sibley, from Force CID, said:
“We now believe this was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider public, but we’ll be deploying extra officers to the area to give reassurance.
“We are determined to bring the people responsible to justice as swiftly as possible. I would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.”
