Witness appeal following suspected Birmingham kidnapping

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a suspected kidnapping in Birmingham after a man was dragged from his car and bundled into another vehicle.

West Midlands Police received a 999 call at 12.20pm from a member of the public reporting seeing a man being pulled from a silver Mini in Cole Valley Road, Kings Heath.

It’s understood the man was punched and kicked before being driven off in a black Audi; the victim’s Mini was also driven away during the incident.

Quick-time enquiries led officers to an address in Kings Heath where a 39-year-old man was arrested just after 4pm and a vehicle seized.

However, police are yet to identify the victim – said to be an Asian male in his 30s and around 5ft 7ins tall – and are urging for him to make contact.

Any witnesses – or anyone who believes they may know the identity of the victim – are urged to contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at WMP Online or by calling 101 and quoting log 1056 from 7 June.
