Man fatally shot in Erdington named
A young father fatally shot on Thursday lunchtime was named today (April 20) as Remal Hunt, as his family described how he will be ‘sadly missed’.
Remal, 28, was found with critical injuries when police were called to Church Road, Erdington at around midday on Thursday (18 April).Remal died a short time later.
A post-mortem revealed he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
No arrests have yet been made, but officers continue to look for CCTV and speak to potential witnesses.
Today Remal’s family said:
“Remal was a very much loved son, brother and father who was kind hearted and will be sadly missed.”
Detective Inspector Caroline Corfield from the force’s homicide team, said:
“This is a desperately sad time for Remal’s family, and we have specially trained officers in place to support them.
“We believe that Remal was directly targeted. There will be many people who know what happened and where those responsible are now. I would encourage them to provide that information which can be done in confidence.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Church Road around midday on Thursday – you may have valuable information. Remal’s family are distraught at his loss and we are determined to seek justice for them.”
