Cannabis factory discovered in hidden Wolverhampton bunker

Officers unearthed the secret back garden cabin following a raid at an address in Bushbury Road, Wolverhampton, this morning (Thursday 14 February).

Almost 20 plants were found in the house but officers carried out further searches in a rear building.

They followed up on their suspicions to remove wooden panelling which went on to reveal the sophisticated underground set-up with around 250 plants.

Two men, aged 57 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and are currently in police custody for questioning.

Inspector Stephanie Furber, from Wolverhampton Police, said:

“The plants were well hidden but officers acted on their suspicions and discovered the cannabis factory.

“Drugs will not be tolerated on the streets of Wolverhampton as they not only destroy lives themselves, but can lead to further crime.

“We would urge anyone with concerns about drugs in their communities to let us know. We need the public to be our eyes and ears to help us combat this issue.”
