Appeal following serious hit-and-run in Birmingham
Police are appealing for information after two men were seriously injured following a hit-and-run in Birmingham.
The pair were crossing Adderley Road, near the junction of Alum Rock Road, Saltley, when they were hit by a car at around 7.30pm on Saturday (12 January).
The vehicle, believed to be a silver Seat Ibiza, was then driven away from the scene.
A man in his 30s suffered a head injury while the other – aged 34 – sustained broken bones. They remain in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Tom Lyons , from force CID, said:
“Two men suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car and the driver didn’t even stop to see how badly they were hurt.
“We are trying to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision and CCTV enquiries are already well under way.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a silver Seat Ibiza around the area at the time of the collision and has dash-cam footage.
“We believe the car would have suffered significant front end damage so would also ask for anyone who has seen a damaged vehicle like this since Saturday night to contact us as soon as possible.”
