Lower Gornal couple in 70s threatened with knives in house burglary

An elderly couple in their 70s are being supported after being threatened with knives and screwdrivers, as their home was burgled in Lower Gornal, Dudley.

Their house on Prospect Road (a few hundred yards from Gornal Village) was raided by three males at around 8pm on Tuesday (23/10/18).

They threatened the man and woman, both aged in their early 70s, before making off with jewellery, cash and other personal belongings.

The couple were left unhurt but shaken by the incident.

Det Sgt Leighton Shingles, from force CID, said:

“This was a terrifying experience for the couple. We are determined to find whoever was responsible and would ask for anyone who saw anything to contact us.”
