UPDATE: Ortise Williams has been aquited by a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court of the indictment after being found not guilty of the alleged offence(s).

Former JLS singer Oritse Williams appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court today charged with Wolverhampton rape.

It is alleged that Williams raped a fan at a hotel in the city after a concert in 2016, after performing at Georgeous nightclub in the city centre.

He was granted unconditional bail by a district judge at today’s hearing.

Co-defendant Jamien Nagadhana, 31, from Hounslow, London West, also appeared at the same hearing. He is charged with assault by penetration in connection with the same incident.

Nagadhana was bailed to appear at the same Crown Court hearing.

10 Worlds Music UK, which managed the singer at the time released this statement following the arrest:

“All we wish to say at this time is that Oritse denies the allegations against him.

“The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment any further.”
